AutoCAD [32|64bit] [Latest]
History of AutoCAD
AutoCAD, developed and marketed by the American company Autodesk, is the best-selling CAD (computer aided design) software in the world and is used by thousands of users every day in a variety of industries and professions around the world. The AutoCAD solution provides professional-level CAD functionality on all of Autodesk’s personal computer-based tools.
Initially, Autodesk did not anticipate the future of AutoCAD. Initially, Autodesk was focused on raster-graphics design using a bitmap format for electronic publishing. In this situation, the company created a vector-graphics software called VectorWorks, which later became a subsidiary of Autodesk. However, when Bitmap was abandoned, Autodesk realized the demand for better vector-graphics applications.
AutoCAD was based on a new technology, which called IGES. The new technology allowed designers to capture information about the model in a form understandable by computers, but that was separate from the data that made up the model.
When the first release of AutoCAD appeared in 1982, the company had just invented the technology called the IGES format for describing the model. It was at that time when they first thought about a desktop version of the application and also a version that could work on a PC, without graphics.
Since the market for the first version of AutoCAD was centered on the mainframe, which was big and expensive, with a high price, users were divided into different groups:
A. Assemblers. These were companies that produced, from assembly drawings, bill of materials, and tools and fixtures for manufacturing.
B. Engineers and architects.
C. Electronics companies.
D. Mechanical companies.
E. Land surveyors.
F. Telecommunications companies.
G. Oil and gas.
I. Oil and chemical.
J. Power utilities.
K. Telephone companies.
L. Airline and aerospace.
M. Government agencies.

External Format (EXF) is a data format used in the CAD industry for exchanging information between Autodesk software and non-Autodesk software. EXF has also been used by other CAD companies for interoperability. However, EXF is slowly becoming obsolete as a universal CAD exchange format due to the complexity of EXF standards and difficulties to interconnect different software applications.
Some of the applications for AutoCAD 2010 were also based on.NET, with some functionality and programming models that were meant to be similar to those of the Windows OS. The Windows Desktop API provides an abstraction layer between Microsoft Windows and.NET, and allows the use of any COM-based software in the system.
Operating system support
AutoCAD has been available for the Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems since 1994.
AutoCAD was first shipped for the Windows XP operating system in January 2002, and later for Windows Vista in 2006. AutoCAD is available in either 32-bit or 64-bit versions for Windows 2000/XP/Vista.
By July 2007, AutoCAD had been shipping for the Windows 7 operating system. AutoCAD LT was also available for Windows Vista in July 2007, for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating system.
AutoCAD 2008 was the first version to support the 64-bit version of Windows 7. AutoCAD LT 2010 supports the 64-bit version of Windows 7. AutoCAD 2010 was the first release to support 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. AutoCAD LT 2012 supports the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. AutoCAD 2013 introduced a 64-bit version of Windows 8. AutoCAD LT 2015 introduced 64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. AutoCAD 2016 introduced the 64-bit version of Windows 10. AutoCAD 2017 introduced the 64-bit version of Windows 10.
By 2015, AutoCAD had been fully supported by Windows Server 2016, which introduced 64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, and could run 64-bit and 32-bit applications side by side on the same computer.
In November 2017, AutoCAD’s Windows and Linux support were retired, to be replaced by the Autodesk platform.

Would static methods be faster than class methods in VB.NET
In c# I often define my methods as static to speed them up. In VB.NET I noticed that there is no other way to define methods as static. I was wondering if I should use static methods or regular methods in my vb.net programs.
I wouldn’t use static method if I used inline and that’s it. If I used static methods I would always declare them as property in class. One big difference is that static methods are hidden (unnamed) and you can’t create instance of them. If you don’t need them and don’t need a set of static methods, I wouldn’t use them at all.
Here is a very basic example of usage:
Public Class MyClass
Public Shared Function GetSomething() As String
Public Shared Function GetAnotherValue() As String
Private Shared Function GetValue() As String
Public Shared Sub doSomething()
Dim result = GetSomething()
[Prenatal diagnosis of familial Mediterranean fever].
Familial Mediterranean fever is a rare genetic disease characterized by recurrent episodes of fever and serositis, for which a major familial predisposition is recognized. In order to diagnose familial Mediterranean fever and to offer the genetic information to the parents, we have carried out an ultrasound screening during pregnancy. The aim of this study is to report our preliminary experience in this field. An ultrasound screening has
