Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

Using the “Red Arrow”
AutoCAD was the first true-to-life 3D rendering software, and the first computer-aided design software (CAD) in general. The very first drawing I ever created was in AutoCAD 2, one of the very first commercial CAD programs.
AutoCAD is well known for its relatively easy-to-learn interface. If you are familiar with a drafting table, drafting pen, drafting compass, vector menu, and drafting grid, you’ll find that AutoCAD’s interface is very similar to those items. The major difference is that rather than being confined to drafting tables and drafting pens, the controls in AutoCAD are extended to the mouse and keyboard.
You will find that you can design and create objects, change their size, move them, change the shape, change the color, delete objects, and do many other things with the mouse, a mouse-controlled trackball, and the keyboard. You will also find that many commands in AutoCAD are similar to commands in other CAD software, like AutoCAD LT.
Like any CAD program, you’ll need to create a drawing in the appropriate drawing units (meters, feet, inches, whatever the local drawing units are) before you can do anything in AutoCAD. You’ll also need to know the specifics of your workstation; that is, whether it has a display that you can draw on and whether it has color or grayscale.
In this tutorial, I’m assuming that you have a color display, and are comfortable working in AutoCAD LT, which runs on the same platform as AutoCAD. AutoCAD LT is available for free; however, it is only available as a trial version that is limited to drawing. This tutorial also assumes that you know how to use the mouse and the keyboard. If you don’t, I’d suggest reading an AutoCAD training book or watching a tutorial before you try this tutorial.
The good news is that once you learn the basics, you can use AutoCAD to create a drawing in minutes. And because you are using a trackball, you will not make a lot of pencil strokes.
This tutorial is broken down into six sections. The first section covers the basics. The second section covers creating a new drawing. In the third section, you’ll find out how to work with objects and groups. The fourth section teaches you how to create new objects and how

AutoCAD was originally released by Autodesk in 1984 as a graphics program to be used as a drafting program and was primarily designed for use in architecture, mechanical engineering and other related fields. AutoCAD 1.0 was released in 1986 and introduced the DWG file format and the ability to save and open DWG files. The program was initially named CAD Draftsman and designed to provide a simple way for drafters to create 2D drawings. Later, the program was expanded to provide new features such as a Bill of Materials, workflow and project management.
AutoCAD went through a number of design changes over the years. There were a number of new features added to the program and its functionality was further expanded with the addition of support for native CAD formats including the DXF format. In 1989, AutoCAD was renamed from CAD Draftsman to AutoCAD. In 1991, AutoCAD 2.0 was released. It provided native support for creating 3D models and the ability to create and edit 2D architectural plans. It also introduced a Graphical Interface.
AutoCAD was one of the first major programs to incorporate object-oriented programming concepts. AutoLISP, an interactive, integrated form of LISP programming language was first introduced in AutoCAD 1987. LISP became the defacto programming language for AutoCAD for several years.
AutoCAD introduced a new major release in 1997, AutoCAD LT. It was designed for use in schools and small companies. It provides a “block tool box” for creating new blocks and a simpler GUI. AutoCAD LT has since been expanded with the release of AutoCAD R14, which was the first version to support Windows XP and Mac OS X and AutoCAD 3D, which was released in 2001. AutoCAD 3D allows designers to create 3D CAD models that can be used to create 3D visualizations of complex concepts. AutoCAD 3D has been expanded with the release of new features such as AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD Electrical. AutoCAD 3D has also been adopted by companies such as Boeing and EDF.
In 2005, the development of AutoCAD 2008 was announced. It was initially scheduled for release in 2008. It is currently scheduled to be released in 2011.

Some of the signs, which are directed at pregnant women, have been placed at areas frequented by pregnant women, such as subway stations, restaurants and hospitals. The advertisements appear to be related to a recent outbreak of food-borne illness that has sickened dozens in the country.
But the government officials who sent the signposts said that they had other motivations.
“This was a political decision,” said Alfredo Navarrete, a spokesman for the government. “The moment we found out about the outbreak of food-borne illness, we began to issue the notices and they took off immediately.”Q:
